Are you the same online as you are IRL?

Are you more /less confident?

Are you nicer /nastier?

Or are you exactly the same?

More outspoken. Which in some cases means nastier and in some cases nicer. Basically just saying what usually stays locked up in my brain.

This is me. I am opinionated, passionate, occasionally wrong about stuff, and I almost always post under my SN, unless I'm talking about a third party who might be identified on the board.

I'm very honest (to a fault), and I've often been told that I "don't have any filters." I couldn't be fake if I tried, because I'm no good at it! (I'm also a terrible liar, just ask my parents. embarrassed )

Ok, I'll know never to ask you what you think of my cooking, hats, or shoes.

What you see is what you get.

Except the fur. I'm really not this hairy.

I am more outspoken online. In real life I am more of a people pleaser so I don't say my opinion as much. Online I don't need to please anyone so I say what I think (within reason)

I think I am also nicer in real life but that might be more to do with body language and tone which is lost on the internet.

Am I the only one who's more timid online?

In real life I can rely on a smile, a wink or a smirk to get my point across. I can't possibly convey this online, therefore I "talk" less, out of fear of being misunderstood.

I'm also a lot more outspoken in real life, maybe because I generally know my audience and here...some of you guys are scary!

IRL I am a 78-year-old Italian Catholic woman channeling my Jewish ancestors who arrived in Rome on a slave ship from Judea in the first century CE.

I think I'm a much warmer person IRL to my family and friends but I don't think it's an online/offline thing. I'm just generally reserved with people I don't know well, IRL too.
I also probably come across as more outspoken online simply because I am able to express myself better by writing. People IRL with whom I discuss things by e-mail or whatsapp (in Hebrew mostly) know I have lots to say but others who know me more casually might not guess.

I think I'm pretty much the same.maybe more outspoken about things I think are really ridiculous/wrong/terrible/shameful/rude. Irl, I'm also a ppl pleaser, so if I think someone is being (fill in adjective from above) I won't say anything nasty to them. But here, I'm pretty sure no-one knows who I am, so I'm more comfy opening up about different things. I do talk a lot irl tho, and I find I talk a lot on here too Smile

More open online.
Share more of my humor too online cuz I'm able to filter it and backspace if necessary.
IRL what comes out of mouth can't be taken back so I keep more inside.
But definitely the same loving caring opinionated psn either way and the same worries here and there too.
Smile

I think im pretty much the same, except here I can say more of what I think, than In real life. because most pple I associate with are from my community and if I have some hashkafa that isn't so acceptable in my community , but ok elsewhere, I will definitely not share it with them.
