Does anyone have any advice in sautéing chopped onions in the oven?

I don't know that that's possible, but you can roast them in the oven. Spread chopped onion on a baking sheet, toss with oil (and spices if you wish) and bake at 425oF (220oC) until they start to brown.
As a side note, you might want to edit your post so there's a title. It's hard to click on like this, so I imagine many people won't bother.

U put them in a pan. Mix w oil. Cover. Stick in oven.
When I do it, I do a bunch of onions at a time. Like almost a complete 9 x 13. Add oil. Mix. Cover and bake for quite a long time.
