I'm wondering if anyone had their multilingual child with a speech therapist? My 4.5 year old recommended a speech therapist because he speaks slowly, but he doesn't speak English at home... he speaks two other languages at home. So I'm wondering if I should start looking for a therapist or just wait since I read that bilinguals/multilinguals can have a speech delay.

My cousin is a speech therapist who specializes in bilingual or multilingual kids. Now on your post alone I couldn't tell you whether or not he needs speech therapy, but there is definitely a specialty within the field that deals with kids who speak more than one language. You can look into that and have such a therapist evaluate him if you are concerned.

What language would the therapy be in? What language is the language of where you live? My children had therapy in spanish because that's the language spoken where we live, but they more have issues with english pronounciations.

If your child doesn't have a speech handicap, then u need a tutor.
Some Multilingual children have to lose some of a language in order to gain strength in another language, and later on they ll catch on.
