I often buy the pickled turkey that comes in a net. Lately they have been ssssoooo salty! I have even tried my regular recipes just omitting the salt but it's still so salty! Any ideas on how to make it now? I have a bunch in my freezer...

Are you baking it? The saltiness is not as strong if you cook it.
Some people I know cook, pour off water (and some salt) halfway through, add fresh cold water and resume cooking.

I usually make it in the oven with a rub/sauce. What other way is there? I also have some that r not pickled... Do u make it the same way?

If it's too salty, boil it stove top. Slice when cool and rewarm in the sauce.

Have you tried soaking it in just cold water before you cook it. When I pickle turkey from scratch I rinse it thoroughly while massaging the pieces under cold water. This helps get some of the salt out if its been over brined. Now you can't massage a netted roast but you should be able to soak it.

How long would I boil it for? I would put it in when the water is already boiled or put it in cold water and bring up to a boil? And once it's boiling, do I let it simmer or boil? And how long for a 2 1/2 lb one?
