For some odd reason I find myself singing this song, I believe from an alma mater from color war, every night while putting DC to sleep. I know I got some words wrong and it bothers me I'll type out what I sing so no one has to type it all, and can someone please tell me what I got wrong/fill in for me? Tia
Close your eyes and sleep
Dream of all the things that you can be
Life so new, wait for you
Dream a dream and make it all come true
Sun shines overhead
Pictures of tzaddikim round your bed
Loving heart, born apart
Dream a dream and make it all come true...
Dream little one, pure little one
Reach for the highest stars,
Our leaders were ones.
We like you are you can follow the light
Blaze in the night
I'll be so proud of you
Sleep now, Dream now & make it all come true

Mostly right, this is how I know the song:
Close your eyes and sleep
Dream of all the things that you can be
Life so new, wait for you
Dream a dream and make it all come true
stars shines overhead
Pictures of tzaddikim round your bed
Loving eyes, warm and wise
Follow them your star will light the sky.
As you grow, all you know,
you're my little tzaddik
Alef Bais fill your days,
Precious soul
Dream little one, pure little one
Reach for the highest stars,
Our leaders were once
young like you are, you can
follow the light
Blaze in the night
I'll be so proud of you
Sleep now, Dream now & make it all come true

I love this song! It's older than 2000, cuz I went in 96-98 and they were singing it already, and it wasn't an original then.

I was just thinking how much I love this song (sing it to my 2 boys all the time) and how I wish I knew someone who had it recorded somewhere... Anyone?

I was actually in that production. It was the theme song from festival/contata. I think it was in 95. If I remember correctly, the composer is Mrs. Lowy (Mrs. Braunstein a"h daughter). One of my favorite songs. Still remember singing it on the stage in the gym.

Makes sense if it's a Shira song...all of the Braunstein girls are so musically talented B"AH. I was in seminary with one of them and she could literally compose tunes on the fly....
