My baby is 5 weeks old. I was off dairy to see if it would help his colic situation, but it didn't help, so I went back on dairy last Monday. Last Sunday, the day before I went back on dairy, he had a check up and was fine. Last Thursday, after going back on dairy, he had another check up and had fluid in his ears.
Add to that the fact that 3 of my other 4 kids had ear fluid from dairy.
However, the doctor doesn't think it's necessarily related. I do think I should go off dairy again, but I'm thinking maybe I should first wait a bit and see if the fluid persists. The doctor saying she doesn't think it's related makes me more tempted to wait a bit, but it seems selfish on the other hand. WWYD?

It can't hurt to go off dairy. There's definitely a link between dairy and fluid/ear infections. My pediatrician first thing he says when baby has fluid is to go off dairy.

go off dairy. my baby is having issues with fluid since he was born and I'm off dairy which is why the ent is taking it seriously- we saw the ent for something else and he caught the second ear infection.

I had this with a lot of my kids. Stay off dairy for a month and then try again.

Try.
My ENT put my kid on a 4 week dairy free diet and it did nothing for the fluid.
