This is another really good one (I have something similar) and the concept is amazing. My baby hates it at first but once her nose starts draining she loves it. You will wonder why it took so long to invent this.

We do this:
Sit in steamy bathroom for 10-15 minutes
Then nose Frieda (or similar snot- sucking thing)
The natural version of Vicks vapor rub on chest
Tilt baby's sleeping surface. For younger babies, I put rolled towels under the mattress. For toddlers, I add a pillow. This is so mucus drains and doesn't get stuck in the nose/sinus/chest.
Humidifier
Room cool not too hot. Lots of clear fluids.
For babies over one year I give warm diluted peppermint tea sweetened with honey.
Hope the little one is feeling better soon!

Peppermint or eucalyptus oil diffused into the room. Do NOT put directly on child.

Elderberry syrup for anti-viral properties. Sold as Sambuccus and other types at your health food store or Vitacost.com
To drain sinuses do this three times daily.
1. With two fingers, press firmly along hairline from top of forehead to ear, 10 times
2. Inner corner of eyebrows under bone: you will find a small indentation in bone (try on yourself to see where it is) Make circles with your finger, firmly, ten times
3. Inner corner of eye where your tear ducts are - circle 10 times
4. Outside of nostrils - 10 times
5. Place several fingers (depending on age of baby and size of face, of course, I use all four fingers on mine) on cheeks & make circles 10 times.
Have tissues ready because those sinuses will drain!

1. steamy bathroom
2. diffuse eucalyptus oil nearby. can combine with the steam. (I also have a blend called RC that contains eucalyptus and some other congestion-relieving oils)
3. Sterilize water, add a little salt, and drop some up the nose... baby will hate it... wait a few minutes and THEN use a snot-sucker type thing. Much more effective after the saltwater. Not too salty! Gentle!
