Substitute purpe cabbage for green cabbage?

can I substitute purple cabbage for green cabbage in a recipe for cooked food, like for cabbage knish or something like that?

It will taste the same but the dish might look strange because of the color that will seep out.

Purple cabbage turns pink when you add acid like lemon juice or vinegar. It will turn green if you add a base like baking soda.

I've used purple cabbage in soup, but you need to eat it right away or the color leeches out. What are you making?

I have a lot of purple cabbage and I was thinking of making cabbage pastrami knishes in puff pastry, that I have used in the past with green cabbage, and I was wondering if it would work with purple cabbage

It will taste OK. It will look weird.
If you're serving right away it should be fine. If not, it will be a but of a mess.

Yes, it will work. They aren't very different.

Red cabbage is slightly tougher, slightly, so cut it up small, but really they are very much the same. There will be the red color.
