I was planning on switching over as soon as my insurance kicks to. I was planning on switching to Dr Shanik... Now Im in a dilemma bec Im happy with Dr Hirsh but they say Shanik is a Maven... but not personal... I would appreciate any insight..

I wouldn't switch unless your child has a medical issue. Dr. Hirsch is a good dr. with a lot of experience. He is personal and has patience to explain and listen. You wont get that by dr. shanik. If there is something that you need a mavens advice for then switch to shanik but 95% of the time you wont get to see him anyway - just a PA.

I dont use him anymore. but I do recommend him. hes great. he gives you the time of day. hes very good. dont rock the boat. stay where you are.

Another vote for Dr. Hirsh. He is a TOP Dr. He is a friend and contemporary of Dr. Shanik. They speak often and have similar levels of experience. I am not a young mother and have used other doctors in the past. I am beyond impressed by the genuine interest he takes in all my children. He knows their first names, even though I have quite a few and some are close in age. He voluntarily gave me his cell phone number which I sometimes have needed to use and he always texts/calls me back. My children have had some medical and even psychological issues, and Dr. Hirsh was spot on. He sent me to the right specialists and followed up as well. I am so thankful he left his private practice in Manalapan and is in Lakewood now. He is a hidden treasure!

Dr. Hirsch is an outstanding doctor. The issue I have is that with Chemed you see whoever is available and not always is it Dr. Hirsch.

The same is true by Shanik, but, there, he stands behind every diagnosis and if there's a problem, he steps up to the plate because it's his practice. At Chemed, that is not the case. Not even sure who takes ultimate responsibility there.
