any suggestions? Which company makes a decent air hockey table that won't be outrageously expensive?

What size do you want? Full length regulation ones are 7 feet long, and cost more money. You can find cheaper for 4-5 foot tables, though some reviews say they're too small. What age kids/adults are you shopping for?

I want kids and adults to be able to play:) From what I'm reading the smaller ones have less air coming out of them? Which would be a mid range table?
