me! Avraham Freid did a few tapes called Yiddish gems, with his songs. My kids loved them, the Ani Maamin in particular, very precious.

Do you know that they are all available on mp3, iPod, or music CD's now?
We bought the mp3 version for $99.
Amazing hashgacha pratis since I had just priced the tapes that week (unaware that they had been digitally released) and was told that it would cost $250 for all the tapes.
$99 for all Y.T.E's material and in digital format certainly beats spending $250 on tapes!

Yes, I know many many of his songs by heart, they are tearjerkers and beuatiful. If only they were clearer and easier to undersatnd. Maybe one day I'll invest in the entire collection.

oh, yes!
As a kid, I would stare at the record-cover of "Americhkeh" for hours on end (yeah, I was a pretty dreamy kid )

I had a couple of his tapes but misplaced them. I would love a set of the tapes.

I used to listne to them with my grandmother every time I came to visit. they are absolute gems and I love them all.
when my grandmother passed away I took the tapes and haven't listened to them since. I think if I did I would get too upset - I miss her so much.
but the beauty of YTE is that he captures the message, the humour and the wit of Jewish life and puts it in such a smart, cute and witty way.
and you can't translate them!!!

I'm a fan of Fried's yiddish gems. I have both tapes in both Yiddish and Hebrew.
I don't know any other Erlich songs.

I personally love his song called "Yaakiv" it's on A Fried yiddish gems..and yes it was translated to English and this is the first time I ever heard a translation of a song that actually preserves the beauty of it and doesnt diminish it
