Also, you can give your dr. a call. Depending on how long your child was exposed, vaccinations etc. your dr. might prescribe antibiotics which is given post exposure for prevention/to lessen the severity of the disease should your child ch"v get it.

the vaccine is not even close to 100 percent effective. call your pediatrician to determine what your next step should be.

I would not rely on vaccination status to assume he would not get it. It may make it more milder, but pertussis is not fun. Prophylatic abx or abx at the first signs of symptoms may be warranted.

I had the same situation a few weeks ago. Every single baby in the group, and the baby's siblings were put on zithromax. Even the babysitter's family was put on it. These adults and babies use different doctors and every single doctor immediately gave a prescription as a preventative measure. Call your Dr. to start zithromax. Vitamin C will not prevent it. It is a dangerous and very catchy virus, especially for babies. Whooping cough is a NIGHTMARE. You don't want to give your child even the possibilty to catch it.
