I have been scouring the Internet looking for a way to make a little money in my spare time. I keep running into sites that are scams! Is there really anything out there for me? I am looking for something that can be done by the hour while my baby sleeps, preferably not phone work. I don't need to earn a lot doing it, but at least maybe $5 an hour. Anyone have reasonable ideas for where to look? I am college-educated and intelligent, but have very little work experience. My English is excellent, and my Hebrew is very good. I am a quick learner and comfortable with a computer. Anyone?

Yes, but not so easy to find. Instead of searching the internet, I would ask around and use word of mouth to spread that you're looking for some work. Data entry is dull, but might work in a setup how you're describing. I would also daven hard that something suitable should come up.

What about Fiverr? Someone was recently telling me about it. Not terrific pay or anything, but I've heard that once you have a name, you can make more.

Check out their website (google fiverr) Pretty entertaining ones!

Not so familiar, but basically you post an offer like:

I will write you a poem for an anniversary
I will write you a 500 word essay
I will make you a monogram
I will do an hour of data entry for you
I will write 10 thank you notes for you

The offers all start at $5.00. Think you can charge more once you've built up a reputation. But, you can charge more for a rush job or whatever.

If you have a specific talent like you're artistic or you know how to do graphics, use it!

Some really weird ones too:

Like there is this guy in Japan selling Japanese junk food! Ships to anywhere, also for $5.00. He looks like he's doing well.

If you write well, check out EditFast. I haven't done any jobs for them but I have gotten offers (too busy when the offers came up). I think they do take a large chunk of the profits but it may be worth it for you to check it out.

What about English-Hebrew translation work? (Resumes, websites, contracts, etc.)

I don't know how much people typically pay but I can see there being a need for that. I might even need a service like that in the near future.

Try Tutor.com.

They're hiring online tutors, mostly for math and science subjects.
