OP here, thanks for the responses. This is the problem I'm having, we're very new to this area and would need a lot of guidance from a lawyer. Someone that can walk us through step by step. I currently have a real estate lawyer but I don't feel he is doing the job because we constantly have more questions than answers. With the current lawyer it's more of here are the documents, see what you need to do and do it. Is that the way it's supposed to be? I don't want to just sign papers without knowing what I'm signing. I'd like to have things clearly explained and told the next steps. Are any of these lawyers what I'm looking for?

Also can anyone recommend a good engineer to inspect the house, Brooklyn.

I have someone who is really good and knows his stuff, very professional. He lives in monsey, everyone uses him there. everything is done over the phone and by email. He would meet you to take care of the closing meeting.
