There was a gift/tchachka sore on 16th and 40 something im remembering...I loved going in there too

I got a pink ruffley umbrella w my name on it from you name it and I was sooo proud, until it broke after a day and I was devastated they didn't take it back.
I used to love Watching them personalize gifts w ppls names.
Who remembers cheese de lox when it was a tiny store on new utrecht? I Remember getting pickles from the barrel and herring on erev shabbos, then going to the old tiny Strauss bakery w the cakes in a tall round glass case.

Who remembers Woolworth on 13 and 44?
There was some kind of junk store where gourmet glatt is, before it was freidmans supermarket.
And this old fashioned candy stores? Was on 13 53 next to the cleaners...
Am I that old?

Yes You Name It -was the store I was thinking of. I also miss the donut man. Who remembers sylvia shoes? And m & m shoes..and the fish store on the corner...

Unofficially, I hear that Goldbergs is coming there. (I guess a second store) The old candy store name was In a Nutshell.
