My DD who is 12 is going in for major surgery.
At a pre op exam we met a mentally challenged 10 yr old who will be sharing a room with my DD.
The nurse made us talk to one another and get to know each other and have the girls get to know each other.
Now I am really not interested in forming any kind of relashionship with them and I got the feeling they don't want to either. They are clearly not jewish and we clearly look very jewish.
Their daughter kept asking my DD if they could have a play date together which will never happen.
A friend suggested that I make a kiddish hashem and bring a gift for this girl.
I thought it would be nice as she will be in the hospital and being special needs it might make her feel good.
What do you think is a nice thing to buy her? Any thoughts ?
