It was a real disappointment. I've read better fan fiction.

There were major plot holes, weak characterization and plot development, contradictions to cannon, and all in all it just seemed like a money cow. I consider it to be fanfic.

Perhaps if JKR had written it...

But no. The story itself was just awful.

I didn't bother buying a copy. Waited my turn at the library and I am not tempted to borrow it again.

Perhaps the temptation will rise when the play comes to Broadway next year.

I thought it would be along the lines of the other Harry Potters and DD borrowed it from a friend. Now she's asking about extramarital affairs and how someone can be married (her words) to two people at the same time!

I have not accepted it either. Especially because at the end of the play things go right back to the way they should be, so no harm done. Someone had a bad dream, that's all.

And someone else made millions of dollars off that bad dream. Smile

I was outraged when I saw Amazon selling the 8 volumes of Harry Potter - with Cursed Child as a legitimate part of the series.

It's not terrible fan fiction, but as canon, it's terribly terrible.

Of all the clever well written fan fiction sequels, I could not believe JKR went with that one. I get upset whenever people call it the next Harry Potter and correct them to say a money making poorly done spin off!
