Anyone know if Section8 policy allows for leasing or financing a car?

Not understanding the question. Im sure you are allowed whatever you want as long as it fits into your income/budget. Otherwise you will havto explain how you are paying for it.

A loan is not income but income is required to pay a loan

Therefore I suspect the question might actually be whether expenses that seem to be unaffordable on stated income might raise flags with the government.

People on government assistance do own cars but generally the value of the cars are low.

If your income is low enough for Section 8', it might also be diffIcult to obtain a lease or car loan.

If this is the question then yes, the government will ask where you have the money to pay the loan.
When I lost my job and was applying for assistance until I could get back on my feet the numbers didn't add up. Every agency I applied to asked how I am paying my mortgage. Dh income was not enough to cover it.

How did the numbers add up? Basically, how did you do it?

On section 8, finance a 2011 van, was told they don't have to ask. Actually, this is not like a mortgage or tuition which is on there list of things to look for.

They do not expect you to buy an older car. They are actually not even supposed to ask. They used to but this is no longer true.

You can call your local office, the state or if you are in Lakewood the LRRC. to verify

The numbers didn't add up. I wasn't trying to play games. I borrowed money to make my monthly payments and told them that.
