Sitting at the table I wondered what to send
A special mesaloch manos for such a special friend
I had in mind a theme a fairly novel kind
It took creativity but I didn’t change my mind
I packaged and prepared for the special day
I wrapped and glued and thought that I would pray
I wanted it all to be perfect right from the start
I wanted this gift to go straight to the heart
So I thought and wondered as I prepared each thing
I said tehllim and you may have heard me sing
I had this all worked out just what I would do
A special meshaloch manos intended just for you
But the parcels I prepared in every single hue
Got switched on the way, and there was nothing I could do
The yellows and the purples the black and the gray
All picked out for the special tray
They somehow got switched by someone who I don’t know
And red, white and blue are all that came to show
I have a feeling now out there in our city dear
Is a sneaky politician who is sitting in all cheer
He is eating all my parcels in every color that I know
And all we have is what he had to show
So if you have a chance to vote this time around
Be sure its not for that fellow, whose food that you have found
