My son was playing with his friend's slap-band and he got a cut on the outside of his hand. The wound was bleeding and he washed his hands with water. It was then covered with a band-aid. 3 hours later I took him to the doctor who said that stitches were not necessary. He wiped it with an alcohol gauze and then used skin glue to seal it.
My question is this: I am now reading that the best thing is for the wound to have oxygen to heal and breathe so as not to cause infection. Is it a mistake that the skin glue was put on? (should I remove it?) I am also thinking that it should have been washed again well before sealing it so as not to seal in any dirt!
Can anyone advise me here or reassure me??

you washed it, doctor cleaned it ...
ripping off the glue would be like ripping out stitches ... leave it alone
you can however use bacitracin or other antibiotic ointment & cover it with band-aids for the first few days ... once it starts healing leave it open for air
