Hello Ladies,
A young woman I know is looking to make Aliyah within the next year. She is a single girl not raised in a religious household but is Baal Teshuva on her way learning to live a religious life b''h. Does anyone have any opinions regarding a girl like her living in Tzfat or Jerusalem. If so, what neighborhoods of Jerusalem would be recommended for a young woman in her situation?

I will post in another forum as well, but if anyone has any recommendations of learning resources for her so she can further her learning that would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know if she'd have so much support in Sfat, but in Jerusalem you can put her in touch with Aish HaTorah.

Is she planning on working right away, or going to seminary?

She is hoping to work right away as a teacher. She has a K-6 and Special Education certification that she hopes to put to use while she's there because she plans on making Aliyah alone. Thank you for your help! I will let her know

Katamon/Baka has a vibrant religious singles community. The Emek Learning Center has great resources for Baalei Teshuva.

She's going to have to get her teaching certificate vetted/approved before she can use it here.

And she'll probably be advised to retrain as a teacher of English as a foreign language.
