DH left a pen in his shirt pocket, and I somehow missed this when I was putting the shirts in the washing machine
The pen leaked all over and 4 of his white shirts are covered in blue ink!!
Just what I need in addition to Pesach cleaning...
How do I get this out? I tried soaking in cold water with bleach but doesn't seem to have made any difference.
Thanks!

I once heard milk works for ink.

Hairspray and a brush but it sounds like it's everywhere and it will be a lot of work.
Spray hairspray over ink. Scrub, scrub, scrub until the ink is out.

Thanks everyone for the tips. I will try hairspray and maybe milk (I read both these tips on a few websites too). If I have any miraculous success I will update this post.
Greenfire, that's my last resort. Unfortunately buying 4 new shirts was not in our pre-pesach clothing budget. Sigh.

hey I hear you ... but I still visualize in the recesses of my mind my kids' ink stains on their uniform shirts ... the ones that never came out no matter how I tried & all my efforts were in vain [yeah they wore them that way too] [men or shabbos shirts you cannot have the same lackadaisical attitude with stains]

Carbona Stain Devils has stain removes that target different kinds of stains. There's one for pen and ink marks. I got permanent marker out of my DD's brand new sweatshirt with it.
