We are a BT family with a modest income looking at various communities. We visited Richmond because we heard it was nice and my husband has a potential job there. We are also planning to visit South Florida. He would be working in Broward/Dade. What are some good communities to check out?
So far Lauderhill was recommended. I've heard mixed things about Coral Springs. I'm an artist and writer, so someplace with a creative, spiritual vibe would be nice. We have four kids from preschool to middle school.

Why wouldnt you consider north miami beach.
Homes are relatively affordable, very warm & accepting community, good schools, & alot of kosher ammenties.

We did a home search and they do not seem affordable in NMB. It's also not seemingly very aesthetically pleasing, though I would be fine with that if it was a nice, warm and welcoming community. What do you like about the community? Are you near Chabad or one of the other shuls? I assume there are many.

Have you checked out Weston? Only issue around florida is that there is a lot of sweaty walking to shuls ... you have to make sure you are close enough or willing to walk the distance

There are more options then
Broward/Dade is a huge area, more than an hour drive end to end easily.
What kind of shul and schools are you interested in?
