I'm chasidish and am looking into moving to Baltimore because of affordable real estate and would appreciate info from all and any Baltimore amothers.

How much does housing cost? Can you name any specific streets that I should be looking into?
Is there a chance for the new chasidish community to work out? (the Kollel one)
What's the job market like for frum people?
What's the general population like? Does the Jewish community get along with the non jews nicely?

Posting anonymously because I discussed this with many friends already.

I live in Baltimore, I am not chassidish, but I know a little about the new chassidish community. AFAIK a really wealthy man here has brought over 40 couples here. He has a little community built for them- there are town houses (really nice size! with sukkah decks and parking), and spacious apartments. There is also a shul, mikvah, bais medrash, playground and a daycare. I also heard of a cheder opening, though obviously it would be small as there aren't that many families here.
I have heard from some of these couples that they are very very happy here. Most of them work in the schools here, or in office jobs.

What is nice about Baltimore is is that it is a large frum community but still has a warmth and closeness to it. All the rabbanim and schools get along. All the Chassidish families live in the city (AFAIK), the area is called "Upper Park Heights". I can name streets if you would like.

If any are here
Please say hi!
Majority are chassidish kollel couples or wives of rebbeim or mashgichim.
Overall a very tememisdik group of women ...who - no offense to ourselves - prob don't waste time on imamother

I just happen to think a very small minority have internet

Though Anything is possible
But from my perspective of the many of the women I know...that is my assumption

Id love if someone proved me wrong
Id be kinda fascinated
