I have been using a friend of mine to do my hair and makeup for a long time. I feel she does a decent job. I have a simcha coming up and I am very impressed with another persons work and would like to use her. My friend will probably realize and even if she somehow doesn't, I would like to use this other person permanently, so she will certainly find out at some point that I don't use her anymore. Can this be done without feelings getting majorly hurt???

If you were impressed by a particular style, show your friend a picture. if she's as decent as you say, she should be able to replicate it. If she was terrible, then it'd be a more sticky situation.
