My son who is three beats up his little sister. I can give him time outs from today to tomorrow, tell him no of something he likes etc he comes right back and smacks her. I noticed he only bothers her when he is bored or wants attention or something. If right after he knocks her down I tell him to bring me a book and read to him or I get on the floor and play with him hes totally fine and stops bothering her. If I give him a time out he comes back and shoves her down again. I will make him say Im sorry before I read him a book. I feel like just saying Im sorry and then getting mommys attention is not really addressing the issue that its not okay to throw your sister down..but punishing doesnt really help. Is just saying Im sorry and then me distracting him good enough at this age or should I be doing something more to address the issue? Yes my three yr old is my oldest
