If I want to send my baby to a real day care center in Lakewood, and I need very full time hours, how far in advance do I need to register?

Thanks

What do you mean by very far in advance? Before the baby is born? (how long?) Right after I come home from the hospital? 2 weeks before I plan to end my maternity leave?

I think it depends on the time of the year...
I just registered my 1 yr old and a newborn (im not due until June) for September. I know someone who called after and there was no more room.
Make a few phone calls- it doesnt hurt to get some info...

I don't live in Lakewood but I put my baby on wait list for daycare when I was about 19 weeks pregnant (and got the spot earlier than I needed it, at 3 months) so my answer is do it now,

Oh goodness! ok... time to move on this. Off topic slightly, but it feels kind of like buying baby clothing, furniture etc - which we don't do before the baby is born. Is it different?

Does that mean you need to pay from when your slot is available? Or you still only pay from when you start sending? I'm not sure how much leave I'll be taking - I'm assuming it will be more like 8 than exactly 6 - and of course, I don't know exactly when the baby will be born...
