Wow, great story! And what a good idea the restaurant had to open early so the family could enjoy their meal before the dinner rush.

Does anyone know who gives their hechsher? I totally would eat there the next time I'm in Brooklyn just to support them - that's the business I want to give my money to!

Here's their webpage. It doesn't say anything but "Glatt" but if you email them, I am sure they would respond.

I googled and this came up in a review.
Kasai is kosher under the supervision of Kehillah Kashrus which is affiliated with OK Kosher but I would assume if one has doubts, one should contact the restaurant.
Very confusing - It probably is the Flatbush Kehilah Kashrus with one L

It is a truly beautiful story. However I will not be supporting them and it's not normally a family-friendly place. It's a good place to hang out with adult friends. It's a very loud, noisy crowded place. The waiters make highly inappropriate PG-13 rated jokes as "entertainment." (Or R rated I guess, depending on your sensitivity level.) I was super unimpressed by my experience. Clearly the owner/manager has a good heart and good intentions. Perhaps my experience was just part of their growing pains as they figure out how to be the type of restaurant they're aiming for.

I'm not following why this is relevant to the story that OP posted.
