Im surprised that even in Nike, Jack Rabbit and the biggest sneaker stores, youre limited to only a few styles if youre looking for sneakers that are black with no neon color trim.
Im middle aged. I want a plain black sneaker, with maybe some white or gray. They almost dont exist, and they narrow down the possibilities drastically.

My sons yeshiva only lets black sneakers not even with a white stripe on it and it's so hard to find him sneakers. I think the school should be a little bit more flexible they refuse to let the boys wear heavy blue sneakers since for some reason that is Much easier to find.

I happen to have been walking through a Sears store and they had a whole shelf of just black sneakers.
You will probably have more luck online. If you live in or near Brooklyn, the frum stores also usually carry black.

I was just in a Finish Line store and was happy to see some there. But you're right, for some reason almost all sneakers have neon now.

I narrowed it down to New Balance because I heard there are very few people who are unhappy with their New Balance sneakers. Most love them. I heard that New Balance sneakers arent too narrow, are good quality, they last long, have a roomy toe area (unlike Nike), arent too heavy (like most Asics are).
I went to the New Balance store this week and I really liked the 860 but they dont come in black, or any neutral color. I was told that New Balance has very few styles in black, excluding the 990, which is a heavy sneaker.

I have the 711 Cush which is very light and the Vazee is also light.
They both come in black with white trim.

There are many sneakers that are all black!
adidas originals, reebok, nike airmax.
Even if u don't find them, airmax are customizable online, so you can have them made all black
