Hi, anyone know if it's possible to attach velvet (such as used in wig grip) directly to the front of the shaitel? Just a strip of it to keep it from sliding back.

Thanks!

A lot of companies have caps where the velvet is built in. Milano has one called the Freedom Cap.

I've thought of this too and I don't see why not. You just remove the combs and clips and sew the velvet strips there instead.

Thanks for your response!

heard about the Milano but I want to do this with a wig that I'm happy with that I already have.

I don't trust myself to do it. Can't sew, definitely afraid to mess with a shaitel. Who could help me with this?

That's a good idea but I wonder how long it would stay nonslip. I find that wig grips lose their grip after a while and need to be replaced.

I just had my sheitel macher do this and it is great! She told me she had to do some research as to which velvet to buy because it needed to be one that wouldn't get ruined when the sheitel is washed.
Here is a picture:

Thank you so much for attaching that picture Amother Bronze! I wonder if your shaitel macher would do that for me?

I also would like to know how it holds up over time, as SleepyBeauty mentions...
