I'm making "Clean out the Fridge" Soup.
So far, 4 onions, sauteed, about 6 cloves garlic, a little celery.
Shreddeed 1 zuccini, about 6 carrots.
I have a few sweet potatoes and a turnip (white, not wax).
Will the turnip add to the soup or be detrimental?
(I'm not even sure why I bought it... I think DD puts 'em in her chicken soup...I usually don't.)
Please advise quick! Thanks.

whole or quarters or shredded?
I do want something to reduce the sweetness of the carrrots, that's why I'm hesitating on the sweet potatoes. I just want a nice veg soup, not a sweet carrot-sweet potato soup.

I love turnip in soup, diced or pureed. It gives lots of taste.

I put diced rutabagas in soup — rutabagas are a close relative of turnips. I find that they need a lot more time to soften than most veggies.
