We are looking into possibly getting a store card (ie target redcard) and trying to see if he its worth getting another credit card being that we just got one for travel points.

I am not a fan of store cards unless it is really worth it.
I shop very often at Target so for me the red card is completely worth it. I get free online shipping 5% off everything etc.
You just have to make sure to be on top of payments.

Depends. I had a Macy's card and paying it was awful. The online payment system sucked, and at one point, I would shop on the card and then go to the next counter to pay off the balance in cash. I canceled the card because I started shopping them online and I get all the discounts without the card.

Target - yes. I buy almost everything there and the discount really adds up.
Compare the Target discount to the points you could earn using your other card and see if it makes sense for you based on your typical shopping pattern.
