What is this new "shtick" I've seen at Jewish weddings, where the bride stands in a hole in the middle of a large round sheet?

A parachute? Usually she dances in the middle with close family (mother/MIL/siblings) and/or friends. Sometimes rose petals are thrown in as the circle moves the parachute.
