We're doing a mini NYC vacation. (We live an hour away). I'm trying to plan two days of activities, so one day we want to take the SI ferry and go someplace in SI. Any suggestions for activities for kids age 2, 5, and 7 plus 2 adults? Budget-friendly please.

Staten Island Zoo is a really nice, smaller zoo. I think it's free on Wednesdays, you can check their website. We also really enjoy the Botanical Gardens there and there's a nice Children's Museum in the same area that's not expensive.

SI Children's Museum is great, and quite close to the ferry. There also used to be a garden maze in the botanical garden next door to the children's museum, which is a lot of fun for kids to run around in. There's also the SI Zoo, and boat rentals in Clove Lakes Park.
