It's a formal lr/dr and I want something that has a very fresh look. It's a really big room with very dark wood floors (jacobean stain color), and wall moldings. There's also a lot of natural sunlight. I have no furniture or anything that I need to match to. The house is not at all modern looking so I'm not going for that look here either. Here are the (current) options:

1. Benjamin Moore Guilford Green HC-116

2. Benjamin Moore Beacon Gray 2128-60 (This color is BLUE. I bought a sample and painted it on the wall, it's a blue, despite the fact that it's called gray.)

If you have any other ideas for me that are NOT gray or taupe, feel free to comment too. Smile

Thanks!!

I hope I did this correctly; I never post pictures on imamother.

I like the Beacon Gray better, personally, but it depends on what your furniture looks like.

Oh, sorry, I didn't see that you said no furniture to match... the green might go better for what you're looking for, but the gray is a nicer color IMO.

The green is nice. Grey is boring imvho

Eta I just realized you wrote the gray is blue. Still I like the green more.

As colors, I like the grey better than the green. However, with dark wood floors, I think the green is a better fit. Can you find the same tone of green that's a little less yellow-like? (It may just look a little yellow next to the very green curtains...)

Here's another pictures of the green. I think it's the sunlight and the curtains giving it that look.

Still think it's yellow?

None, as of now. Very Happy

When we do, I am totally open to ideas on this too. I'm not stuck on any one particular look or style.

I like this much better without the green shades in the picture Smile
I think the green is a much more cheerful color and goes better with wooden floors.

Think about what you want your accent colors to be. I used to have that shade of green and it was hard to pair it up with things.

I have gray now and it takes a lot of color to keep it from feeling cold, even though it's a warm gray.

So, I vote for the blue. Wink

Sounds interesting, but I'm not really sure how that would look. Maybe a bit too modern looking? Can you post a picture please?

Thanks!
