Any ideas for an appetizer that will be on the table for sheva brachos when everyone arrives.
It should preferably be something that is:
- served cold
- easy to put together
- pretty presentation
- can be made way in advance
- no chicken (serving in hot appetizer and main course)
- only very typical non exotic ingredients
All I can think of is a fruit soup with a crunch on top
Or someone mentioned an assortment of dips plated with bread sticks but it got nixed.
Any ideas.

Maybe this is boring but when I make sheva brochos in the summer I always do some kind of fruit appetizer. You can do a composed fruit plate with lots of different colors and textures. Gorgeous.

* little crostini's topped with olive tapenade/ tiny slice of london broil with a touch of bbq sauce/ tomato - cilantro salad/
* Kani salad
* tuna tacos (seriously delicious, it calls for tuna steak not tuna from a can. its small tacos so real appetizer dish. With avocado and pico de gallo)
It all sounds fancy but VERY simple to put together

Thank you for all the ideas - they sound great.
But I need something that can be done 100% in advance. So no cutting fruit or veggies.
Imagine I"ll be away for 1 week before wedding. then work day of wedding and get kids to wedding on time. Then next day work 7 hours plus help set up for sheva brachos.
I don't really have time to put anything together the day of or day before, regardless how simple.

I can't think of anything you can make a week in advance for all components.
Can you do cold salmon on top of sesame noodles? Cook the noodles, mix in the sauce. Make the salmon. Onsite, you can slice and plate.

You can freeze toasted bread for crostini.
Trying to figure out if sautéed liver can frozen? That might be the right component to serve on top of the crostini.
KBD has a chicken liver crostini though I'd do my own thing.

Would layered tri-colored fruit punch work? I've frozen blended fruit successfully in the past. And then all you need to do is defrost and layer in flute glasses.
