Thanks. How long would that be to walk for a middle aged guy, daily?

Actually closest station is Quentin and E 16. Not much of a difference but just being technical 😃 How long it takes- it's eleven short blocks. It would probably take me around ten minutes but I am a fast walker. Depends on the person but you can put the address into Google maps for average.

The B2 goes down Avenue R to the Quentin Road and East 16th St. Subway station, if that is of any help.

map it on google with both addresses ... you'll get everything from which train to how many miles to how long it should take [the average person] to walk

I would think it is a 10-12 minute walk. No way that takes 20 minutes. And I'm a slow walker.

What do people do who live on Avenue R & East 31st, going to work every day? That area is train-handicapped...

Lime, as I said above, the B2 bus goes down Avenue R to the train station so there is an alternative if someone doesn't want to walk.

Great start for the work day, 5 days a week, to either walk or wait for buses and then trains, in frigid or humid temperatures. A lot good it does someone to have a private drive if they want to drive to the train and have to look for parking.

Yup, you are right. It is a shlep to get to the train and finding a nearby parking spot is a longshot. I know some people who drive down to the Newkirk station because parking is easier there (or so they say.) At any rate, good luck and welcome to the neighborhood if you just moved in.

often people set up a ride/carpool to the train when they are a distance ... or they learn to power walk
