Dr. Tepler is considered the expert in orthopedics. I've used him.

What does that mean?
Are you asking if he's confident? He is.

If he suggests a treatment plan, would he consider a different plan

For his expertise and experience I give him 5 stars. For his personality and attitude he doesnt even deserve 1 star.

I know many many people that use him. For his skill and expertise he is considered the best. His attitude is another story....
OP, he most likely would not listen to a different treatment plan than the one he suggests. his bedside manner leaves a lot to be desired.

DH, fractured bones in his foot. Will he allow a boot, or insist that he gets a cast.?

I respectfully disagree with other posters regarding his level of care. Find another doctor.

Dr. Dayan is mostly a hand, but also a joint and sports medicine specialist. He is a highly regarded orthopedist. Alternatively, there are several good orthopedists who practice at the Maimonides Joint Center on Bay Parkway. If you'd like to try to resolve your husband's issue with a boot rather then a cast, they try to do so if at all possible and medically sound.

The thing is that a boot is removable and dh would probably not wear it as supposed to. Therefore, I would think that he should get a cast.

Then speak to the doctor before your appointment. Otherwise generally adults are trusted to follow instructions.
