Shopping Plaza on Route 70 and Cedar bridge with Barnes and Nobles, Petco and Chuckie Cheese in the back:

Barnes and Nobles - Read a book, find out if they have a story time, I think there is a train table to play with
Petco - look at fish, gerbils, dogs getting their hair done in the salon
Chuckie Cheese indoor arcade with small play area

Was also going to mention public library - I've heard good things about Jackson but was never there, may be far by Taxi. Playground there is great.

Which library in Jackson? The one down Bennets Mill Road? (haven't been there in ages, never saw a water park there....though the castle park there is great.)

Freehold Mall. There's a carousel and some little rides.
I think NJ Transit has a stop there.

There's also bowling. My kids always like that no matter the age.

iScream Kids is open at 10 (not sure what you mean by "nothing until 2" unless there's a party there or something). It's also cheaper before 2 on school days. There's a kids' play area in Ocean County Mall. The Brick library has a nice kids' section, I haven't been to the others. And like sky said, the Petco/Barnes & Noble/Chuck E Cheese center is a lot of fun!

Junglerrrific is closed, as far as I know.
