Hi,
I'm just wondering if anybody had any experience w/ a large freezer stored in an open porch during the year, is it safe? can it brake?
I thank u in advance for you response.

No experience but I've just been looking into freezers and I've noticed that there are freezers that are 'suitable for outbuildings'. That would probably be a good choice.

I had a freezer on my porch for years. I never had the slightest bit of a problem, however it was under another porch, not totally exposed.

Thanks for the replies! good to hear that there's a product that helps it.. I'm also concerned if the rain and snow won't ruin it, or maybe there's a special cover? anybody had any experience before?

I have an extra fridge on my back porch. Its a covered (not enclosed) porch. It's always in use and I never had any problems with it. I did have a padlock installed on it for kashrus purposes-the backyard is accessible to anyone. If you plan on installing a padlock, be careful. A friend tried doing it himself and drilled a hole into the pipe that holds the refrigerant and that was the end of his fridge.

We kept a freezer on the back porch for years. It was fine. Also we've had one in the garage now for a few years and it's fine too. Good luck.
