My daughter is 1.5 and she keeps getting MRSA. She is now on antibiotics for the third time in 2 months, and each time is for 2 weeks. I'm freaking out. The antibiotics is just not fully getting rid of it from her body!! She already has immune system issues and I am going crazy here. Doctors are telling me there's nothing to do, you just have to keep fighting it every time it comes back so it doesn't become dangerous. I hate putting her on such strong antibiotics so often due to her other health issues. Any advice?? HELP!!

My daughter keeps getting it as well. We do body checks every time she has a bath and look for pimples on her body. We make sure to pop them and less any puss drain before they get too big. You have to know when to leave them and when it is time to pop them. You also have to know when you have missed the window, and must run to the doctor that day. (Once we missed it by a day, and ended up needing to rush to the hospital)

It's an art.

That being said, I am following this thread for other suggestions.

Have you seen an infectious disease Doctor, or is your ped treating it? Might be time to see am ID specialist.

Add Clorox bleach to her bath.
Add Clorox bleach to her bath.
Add Clorox bleach to her bath.

Half cup bleach to about 3-4 inches bath water.
Surprised your dr didn't mention this.

Oh and did I mention?
Add Clorox bleach to her bath.

BH never dealt with mrsa myself but I've heard abt a regimen from the company of Miracle Clay, I think it's called Nature's Cure. They have a hotline you can call to ask questions. Maybe you can get the number online or from a health food store.
Hope this helps.

I'm also dealing with this now. Someone told me to put bleach on a cotton ball and wipe down the area that's infected. Follow that with gentian violet. Do it twice a day.

Hibiclens during bathtime helps, and I was also told that putting bactroban inside the nose often nips it in the bud. There's also M.R. creams that help.
Good luck.

THIS.

My pediatrician had me do this for my 1 month old. He must have gotten it at the hospital. The first time I did it I felt like some kind of child abuser bathing my child in bleach. But its not a big deal at all. Google MRSA and bleach baths. You'll read about it. Do them twice a week, and follow the directions for how much bleach to put. My pediatrician said basically the bath should smell like a pool. Also, often it is harbored in the nose, so mupiricen on a q-tip in the nose, however often is recommended I don't remember.

IT WORKS.

I was also told to put bactriban in the noses of everyone in the home 6 (maybe fewer) times per day and that EVERYONE in the home should be taking bleach baths at least once a week- in addition to the child taking them 3 x/week for a few months

Dear, just google it.

It is a recognized, mainstream, highly effective way to kill the mrsa that has colonized on the skin surface.

Of course ask your doctor.... But I'm extremely surprised that it hasn't been recommended already.

Bleach baths caused my dd extreme pain in her private area. It was recommended by the dr.

If you catch the pimple early, put dc in a warm bath(as warm as can, keep adding hot water) for 30 minutes 4 times a day.

Hibiclense helps it from returning. Dd uses it weekly. I bleach the bath regularly and no one shares towels.

MRSA can c"v hit the bone. Every outbreak needs to be monitored by your dr.

Bleach on the affected area is not enough. And it should be diluted with water, not straight bleach. The child ( and probably all members of the house to a lesser degree) need to bathe in the bleach, to kill all the mrsa living anywhere on the body.
To amother who thinks this is a terrible idea, I was told this by my pediatrician, my infectious disease specialist, and by the hospital staff when my baby was hospitalized for mrsa.

I also vote for a bath with a cup of bleach in it.
It helps with so so many things.
Very effective for eczema that gets infected.
as long as you use an excellent moisturizer after.
