Please let me know whether you had experience with Mr. Azoolay, or know of any good, reliable and honest handyman in Lakewood.
Please mention what type of jobs you know that he does or doesn't do (eg, small jobs, painting, sheetrock, electric, kitchen installation etc.).
Thanks a lot!

Eliezer Naftali did my basement - sheetrock, lighting, plumbing, tiles, (bathroom/bathtub), painting, closets. He did my sister's kitchen. I found him to be extremely honest and pleasant.

Chayalle, is he more of a contractor though?
I have some little things + electric that have to be done around the house. It's beyond my knowledge but probably below contractor's level. I'll eventually need contractor's help as well but would prob. start with the smaller jobs.

Yes he is a contractor. OK I get it, you need someone to do smaller jobs.
I've heard of a Mr. Lobel who does that kind of work, but don't know his number. I know he did a nice job at my friend's house.

One more question: did you have to tell him exactly what you wanted and how, or did he give you and your sister any input regarding layout, options etc?

For myself, we discussed what I wanted and he also made suggestions, in some cases he told me if I do it this way it will cost less, in terms of plumbing or stuff like that....
With my sister's kitchen, the kitchen cabinet place had a designer, and he followed the design, which had been done with her input.

I don't have a recommendation, although sometimes if you call a contractor, he can send over one of his guys to do odd jobs, especially if you have half a day's worth. DH is very handy, so he usually does that when he needs help with a bigger project.
I happen to think the handyman business is a great one to go into in Lakewood right now. All the cheaply built new construction of the last ten years is about to start breaking down any minute now, and there will be a lot of work in this field. Just my .02, but I think that providing a service that is likely to be in high demand is a great way to start a business.
