So I am off cane sugar and use duck sauce for my chulent. That is my secret ingredient.
Any alternative ideas or home made duck sauce recipes?
TIA

All duck sauce is going to have some form of sugar because it is what it is which is a sweet sauce. Even the home made ones use some form of sweetener with a base of apricot preserves generally.

I might have one that you can use with honey or agave. Let me find in my computer as I am on my iPad now.

Here's one that just relies on the apricot preserves.
HOMEMADE DUCK SAUCE
INGREDIENTS
¾ C all-natural apricot jam
4 Tbsp rice vinegar
½ tsp low sodium soy sauce
2 medium cloves fresh minced garlic*
1 tsp fresh minced ginger*
½ tsp chili powder
1/16 tsp cayenne powder (or to taste)
INSTRUCTIONS
Combine all of the ingredients in a small mixing bowl with a whisk until evenly combined.
It's best if allowed to rest in the refrigerator for a few hours before serving, so that the flavors can meld. Bring to room temperature 30 minutes to an hour before serving.
Store in an airtight glass container at the back for your refrigerator for up to 1 month.
NOTES
If you're strapped for time, fresh garlic and ginger can be substituted with their frozen counterparts and are almost just as good.

I've done this before comes out great.
Just make sure the rice vinegar doesn't have sugar as most do.
I use regular or apple cider vinegar.
Also, if you can't find apricot jam with no sugar, I've used dried apricots (no sugar added) soaked in hot water, and then blend.
