my 13 year old son injured both his arms. he will not be able to take a shower himself for the next month or so. I was wondering if I there is a problem with me helping him take a shower. and if yea am I aloud to wash his private area. (and no father is not a solution for this situation)

Is there an option of hiring a nurse to come by the house and help him with these tasks? Nurses help patients with showering and dressing all the time and it might be less awkward for him than having his mom do it.

why wouldn't you trust a nurse? ask your son what he prefers. he's big enough to know what he'll find more comfortable.
are you the same poster that wrote that your son has a pain "there" and you want to check it out?

or can you fill tub and just help him get in and he just sits? or what about a sitz bath? just fill it up and let him soak with privacy.

Can you shower him while he's wearing a bathing suit or pair of underwear? He might feel more comfortable that way. To clean his groin, after you finish washing the rest of his body you can fill the tub with a few inches of soapy water and just let him sit for a few minutes. It's not the same as scrubbing but for a short while should be ok. Otherwise the suggestion above to hire a nurse is a good one. You can likely request a male nurse if that would make both of you more comfortable.
