Look, if your family is repelled by it, just refrain while in their company. Surely your dh can exercise a little bit of self-control while they are around. Surely he would want them to exercise self-control about whatever makes him uncomfortable while he's around. Without getting into a religious debate about whether or not Kitzur Shulchan Aruch is a valid halachic source, let's just cite "common courtesy", folks. It is common courtesy to try to make people feel at ease and avoid doing things we know make them uncomfortable. It is the people who insist upon their right to do anything they like anywhere they like and to heck with everyone else's comfort who need to grow up.
