Are pencil skirts for kids out of fashion? looking at the teela website and they don't have any. fyi they have a nice denim skirt for 10$

For kids? I don't recall them being trendy recently (?) at all.

I didn't really see any in the local stores. a few years ago all the kids wore them. then they made the camp skirt and that is the style that I see most often now. elzees has nice ones for adults for 20$ on ave j. thanks for the link marina. dd still likes the style

Straight skirts are never out of fashion though they may not be currently trending so hard to find in the stores.
doubleheaderusa.com has a bunch of stretch pencil style skirts if that's what you're looking for. I think they even have new colors and fabrics for this season IIRC.
