Had the same issue with my 9 year old son!
Here is what helped:
Got rid of the crunchy nacho chips and orange juice.
Replaced it with air popped popcorn with olive oil and water instead of juice.
He can eat whatever he wants but I did share with him to check in with his hunger level. Also, I did explain to him that we are all doing this together as a family with him. I even started doing push ups and planks with him! We also take shabbos walks together.
This was a real concern for us because his cholesterol level was too high.
On shabbos, we have a homebaked treat and I use whole wheat flour and reduce the amount of sugar in the cake or cookie. It really makes it less addictive!

I also explained to my son that we will be eating healthy and nutritious meals and he can even help me plan.
He still enjoys his favorites just healthier versions.
Baked schnitzel instead of fried etc.

My daughter is 9 and getting very heavy especially by her stomach , op if u see this how’s ur daughter doing now? Any helpful advice thanks!
