What's the point of using them. When would it be used? How is it different then a pull up?

Did you find any book for training that helped the process go easier?

Any tips or ideas that would help me?

In most ways, it isn't different from a pull-up. I have a couple of cloth training pants, but I'm already using cloth diapers, so it's the logical extension of that.
