I have been out of touch with the frum world lately. I'm not sure. My elementary school daughter told me it's trump?

Sometimes I wonder about certain circles: Is anything left to be a person's own personal choice made with their own seichel?!

In Lakewood the Rabbanim do not recommend presidential candidates.

I haven't seen any endorsements where I live. I guess no one wants to take responsibility either way.

Some are saying Trump because he's more pro-Israel than Hillary is.

Really?

I live in Israel and am really scared of a Trump presidency. Clinton might not wholeheartedly approve everything Israel does, and may cause some problems, but Trump can potentially destabilize the entire Middle East. I don't need a war instigated by Trump, thank you very much.

Would you have any issue if the wording of the question was who do they endorse? Bottom line that's what the question is asking.

There's a vast difference between endorsing and recommending someone - and "who are frum people told to vote for by the gedolim"?

As of mid-October, an Israeli poll showed that Israelis favored Clinton. So you're not unique.

Sounds to me like the OP was just trying to pre-empt a heated debate here.

Utter tripe and trash. He's anti-everybody and pro-nobody except Donald Trump himself.

We got a note from our children's school from the Agudah - reminding everybody that it is important to go out and vote. They didn't specify a candidate.

This would be a great question from a troll but I'll assume it's not.
If you can, try to find the most recent Eytan Kobre Mishpacha column for a reasoned approach to "neither." Then, see if you can get the.. I think it's Features section from the weekly Hamodia. (That's not available on line.) There were a few articles that gave some perspective for either of the 2 major candidates and some third party options.
I think the message from "daas Torah" if you will is that we have some flawed candidates and in our obsession with this campaign, we must not let ourselves be spiritually diminished in any way, even while exercising the right to vote offered by this incredible malchus shel chessed.

My synagogue rabbi sent out an email urging people to vote, but noting that neither he nor the shul endorse anyone. I would also point out that most religious organizations are nonprofits, and under the rules governing most nonprofits in the US, it's illegal for them to comment on politics/endorse candidates.
