Oh come on! We've debated on this site about the pros, and more often about the cons of each candidate ad nauseum. It's been a hell of a ride from the first debate until this crazy election.

Let us celebrate this one night (or more accurately morning) without having to excuse ourselves!!

I really don't get why everyone is surprised at the turn of events .... Many "non political individuals "didn't want any of these candidates to go into office yet voted for trump since decided was better to pick the lesser of two evils ....nobody asked us who we would be voting for when they discussed that Hillary was leading in the polls by a small margin if I may add ....... And I still Think that as terrible as trump may turn out to be Hillary would have been so much worse .... Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and voice and this election just proved that ... Why was everyone so confident that she will win?! Why is everyone so surprised ?! America is sick of the clintons and and they are willing to take the risks of potential major change ..... America has spoken tonight

Disappointed, I hear, but surprised? He only slightly less hated than Hillary.

The amount of fear expressed by some minorities online as the results came in was frightening to see. It is awful.

I agree .... I am by no way saying that he is ideal .... I just know so many people like myself who voted for trump as he is "slightly less hated " so I too don't get the element of surprise ....... It is the unspoken voices that went out to vote tonight .... People like myself who were so sick of what everyone had to say and just decided trump will be the lesser of two evils

ETA: just to be clear I did not support any of these candidates all along and did not know who to vote for .... This was a decision I made earlier this week when I had no choice but to actually go out and vote and I am sure that there were so many others in the same situation
